COSCO orders 12 dual-fuel methanol ships

COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry and COSCO SHIPPING Container Lines have inked a deal for 12 new dual-fuel methanol container ships

The new 14,000 teu ships belong to a new generation of vessel type developed jointly by COSCO SHIPPING Lines, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry and the China Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering Design and Research Institute.

Along with this latest order, COSCO has also signed deals for 12 new 24,000 teu dual-fuel methanol container ships and the conversion of eight ships to methanol dual-fuel propulsion.
