DNV approves HMD gas carrier design

DNV has awarded approval in principle (AiP) to HD Hyundai Mipo (HMD) for its design of a 60,000m³ LPG/NH3/VCM carrier

The vessel caters to the rising demand for Medium Gas Carrier (MGC) vessels and aligns with industry trends toward larger ships and stricter environmental regulations.

With similar specifications to MGCs but a larger cargo capacity akin to LGCs the vessel can access MGC-friendly ports, boosting operational efficiency.
