KPI OceanConnect, a global provider of marine energy solutions, has successfully completed the delivery of B24 biofuel to WAN HAI Lines’ container vessel WAN HAI 510 at the Port of Singapore on October 7. The delivery, made in partnership with SK Energy International as the physical fuel supplier, represents WAN HAI Lines’ first use of biofuel, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.

The biofuel, certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), is expected to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 20% compared to conventional marine fuels, contributing to WAN HAI Lines’ ambitious environmental targets. This delivery forms part of a broader, customised alternative fuels strategy, developed in collaboration with KPI OceanConnect, to support the carrier’s decarbonisation goals.

KPI OceanConnect has been a pioneer in the biofuel bunkering space, enabling deliveries across more than 100 ports globally. By working closely with clients and bunker suppliers, the company has helped to aggregate demand and ensure that biofuels meet stringent industry standards. The demand for biofuel bunkering is projected to more than double by 2025, driven by its potential to help ship operators comply with increasingly stringent environmental regulations.
