Wide operating range demonstrated for ammonia combustion concepts
Dr Nicole Wermuth, research leader in combustion and fuels at LEC GmbH, presented results of an ammonia diesel dual-fuel combustion concept test at CIMAC 2023 highlighting the wide operating range achieved
The research team evaluated ammonia substitution rates, performance and engine-out emissions as part of a broader program of tests also involving ammonia-hydrogen combustion.
Tests were conducted on a high-speed 4-stroke single cylinder research engine.
