Digital twin aids electric vessel testing

Three representatives from DNV, HMD and HD KSOE celebrate a signing of an MoU to develop a digital twin to aid with testing electric propulsion

DNV has teamed up with HD Hyundai Mipo and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering to develop standards for testing electric-powered vessels

The initiative focuses on addressing the challenges associated with integrating complex vessel systems for electric propulsion and will use digital twins to run integration tests earlier in the development process, providing a more thorough evaluation of the vessel’s performance.

A key component of the project will be the verification of digital assets.
