Keel laid for NewMax hybrid ferry

The keel laying ceremony for the first of two NewMax hybrid ferries has taken place on 28 June at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in WeiHai, China

The methanol-ready Stena Future is one of two newbuilds that will play a key role in Stena Line’s transition to more sustainable fuels.

Besides being able to run on methanol, the vessels are equipped for both electric propulsion as well as connecting to shore power where available.
