Cancellations, delivery delays and record shipbreaking stabilise shipping

The latest annual report on the shipping industry, compiled and published by France’s Barry Rogliano Salles (BRS) stated that, thanks to cancellations and delayed deliveries, new vessels were less than expected and the world’s fleet increased by only 7% in 2009, against a decline in seaborne trade of 3%.
