Daewoo moves into China

Daewoo Shipbuilding will build a hull block factory in Yantai, China, which will be operational from 2007. It will have a capacity to produce 50,000 tonnes in 2007 and 300,000 tonnes from 2016. Total investment is estimated at $100 million. Currently, Samsung is operating a block factory in Ningbo, China.
