CMA CGM electrifies in Nike deal

Shipping and logistics company CMA CGM Group is developing a new zero-emission inland waterway transport solution in Vietnam.

This innovative initiative features a fully electric barge, powered by batteries, and supported by a charging infrastructure connected to a new solar farm at the Gemalink deep-sea terminal.

The e-barge will transport goods between Binh Duong and Cai Mep, covering a 180 km round trip. The project aims to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, preventing an estimated 778 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere each year.
