Approval granted for LCO2 carriers

A consortium of ship operators and yards has been awarded approval in principle from both ABS and ClassNK for two types of low-pressure liquefied CO2 carriers

The AiP was granted during Gastech 2024 to Mitsui O.S.K Lines, K Line, NYK Line, Mitsui & Co, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, and Nihon Shipyard – a joint venture between Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United Corporation.
