MOL has led the successful real-world testing of an innovative laser rust and coating removal system

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), MOL Drybulk, Furukawa Electric Co., and Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co. have successfully conducted a field trial of the InfraLaser system on the outer hull of a vessel, marking a significant milestone in ship maintenance and repair technology.

Furukawa Electric, in collaboration with MOL and MOL Drybulk, began developing the rust and coating removal system in 2021, using industrial laser technology.
