MOL expands LNG fleet with JERA deal

Faststream says that recruitment needs to keep up with demand in the LNG sector

Mitsui O.S.K. Line has inked a long-term charter deal for a newbuild LNG carrier with a vessel operation management company funded by JERA

This is the eighth such contract MOL has signed with JERA and positions the company as operating reportedly the world’s largest LNG fleet.

The 290m 174,000m3 carrier will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries at its Goeje Shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in 2026.
