Newport Shipping outlines CTV construction plans

Newport Shipping has announced that it is launching a naval architect practice. The company plans to initially focus on designing and building vessels for the offshore wind market. It also announced that it will design and build eight crew transfer vessels (CTVs). 

The offshore wind focused subsidiary is also planning to collaborate with an equity partner to establish a CTV operation arm, focused on the North and Baltic Seas, although the commercial and technical management is expected to be carried out by the equity partner. NAV sees its involvement as pure equity partner after the delivery of the vessels.
