With the take up of LNG now happening and operators also looking to other low flash point fuels such as methanol and ethane, this year’s GFS programme will look at the range of viable options available to operators for compliance with ongoing sulphur regulations. Book now before it expires!
Entitled ‘Fuelling the future of the shipping industry’ this year’s GFS Conference will look at the use of low flash point fuels as a maritime fuel, including take up and feedback by operators from different sectors and will also explore the development and use of alternative fuels. Pricing predictions, safety, technology, along with technical panel discussions on the bunkering infrastructure and technical visits to the methanol-fuelled working fuel cell in situ, will all feature, giving delegates fact-based feedback and information on the
Chaired by: Lars Robert Pedersen, Deputy Secretary General, BIMCO and Mark Bell, General Manager, SGMF, the programme will draw on facts and figures presented by operators and designers on operating low flash point fuelled vessels. Plus, with an eye on the future, Meyer Werft will present the e4ships Project Pa-X-ell - testing high-temperature PEM fuel cells on passenger vessels – whilst ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, will present Project SchIBZ, the aim of which is to develop scalable, integrated hybrid fuel cell system for seagoing ships, having a power capacity of 50 to 500 kW.
Highlight of the technical visits will be visits to the methanol-fuelled working fuel cell in situ on the Viking Mariella accompanied by Gerhard Untiedt, Head of Section, Energy & Environment, Meyer Werft, plus tours of the ship, engine room and bridge.
The delegate package includes two nights’ accommodation on board the Viking Mariella, two breakfasts, three lunches and two dinners.
Places at the Conference will be limited so delegates are advised to book early to guarantee their place. The early bird rate is currently available – book now to save nearly €400!
