HJSC to build dual fuel LNG bunkering vessel

South Korea’s HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC) has secured its first order of the year with a contract to build an 18,000 cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel for domestic shipping company H-Line Shipping.

The contract is valued at KRW 127.1 billion (approximately $87.47 million).

The newbuild will be a large-scale LNG bunkering vessel with a length of 144 metres, a beam of 25.2 metres, and a depth of 12.8 metres. While the exact delivery date has yet to be announced, the shipyard has confirmed that the vessel will incorporate a dual-fuel propulsion system, allowing it to operate on both LNG and marine diesel oil.
