Ulsan Port in South Korea has hosted its first green methanol ship-to-ship bunkering operation helping consolidate its position as a sustainable marine fueling location.

The port authority announced that it hoped that the move will also promote the growth of Korea’s sustainable marine fuelling industry given the intensification of competition among global ports for the methanol fuel market. The Motorship has reported regularly on Maersk’s efforts to secure supplies of renewable methanol in neighbouring East Asian locations in recent months.
