Siem Offshore Inc has declared an option for the building of one additional Multi-Functional Field & ROV support vessel (MRSV) from Kleven Verft AS in Ulstein, Norway. The $51 million newbuilding is scheduled for delivery in March 2008.
The vessel is of MT 6016 L design by Norwegian designer Marin Teknikk AS with a length of 103.70 metres and a beam of 19.70 metres and will have a deck area in excess of 1,100 m2, a 150 tonne active heave compensated crane, accommodation for 100 persons, moon pool, helideck and preparations for launching and recovery systems for ROVs. The vessel is designed for worldwide subsea operations including light construction work, maintenance, and ROV services.
This is the second vessel for Siem at Kleven with the first identical one slated for delivery in June 2007.
