Glycerine is non-toxic, and often used in food and makeup

Glycerol, aka glycerine, is not the most obvious of fuels: under normal conditions it is sticky, heavy, and doesn’t have a high cetane number; in fact at -10 it’s so low that most people assume you can’t use it to run an engine: Stevie Knight explains.
