KM wins PCTC propulsion upgrade deal

Kongsberg Maritime has won a deal to upgrade the propulsion systems on ten pure car & truck carriers for Höegh Autoliners

Each of the ten vessels will be fitted with Kongsberg Maritime’s Promas Lite propulsion system, which has been developed specifically for retrofits.

Promas Lite integrates the fixed pitch propeller, hub cap, bulb, and rudder into one propulsive unit, reportedly increasing efficiency and offering significant fuel savings.
