Wärtsilä has been selected to provide a fully integrated propulsion package for a series of new 6,000 dwt LNG-fueled tankers being built for James Fisher Everard, a leading British fleet operator.

The contract, booked in Q2 2024, furthers Wärtsilä’s aim in delivering efficient and environmentally friendly solutions for the maritime industry. The ships are under construction by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co. in cooperation with design consultant FKAB Marine Design.

At the heart of the propulsion package lies the Wärtsilä 25DF dual-fuel engine. This technology allows operators to switch between LNG and conventional marine fuels, significantly reducing emissions of CO2, NOx, SOx, and particulate matter. This flexibility ensures compliance with evolving emission regulations while optimizing fuel costs based on availability.
