Cybutryne added to hazardous materials list
The biocide cybutryne has been added to the Inventory of Hazardous Materials
The toxic substance and environmental contaminant was first banned from use in anti-fouling systems in January 2023.
Ships in operation must use updated Material Declarations with immediate effect whilst newbuilds have until 1 December 2023 to start using the new form.
