China’s shipbuilding industry has reached a new milestone through the production of its first large-scale cruise vessel, the 135,500gt Adora Magic City. An extended trials campaign was implemented by builder Shanghai Waigaoqiao during July with the ship entering its final outfitting phase in anticipation of commissioning into service at the start of 2024.

While the interiors and onboard facilities have been tailored to the Chinese market, Adora Magic City has Italian lines as a derivation of the Fincantieri-constructed Vista-class, and is laid out with 2,125 passenger cabins for a guest complement of between 4,250 and 5,246.
