ABB secures largest ever PM shaft generator order
ABB has won the largest ever order for permanent magnet shaft generators for LNG carriers.
The orders come from shipbuilders in China and South Korea to supply its permanent magnet shaft generator technology for a total of 30 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. Eighteen vessels will be built in China and twelve in South Korea, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2030.
