Schottel de Colombia is building a state-of-the-art maintenance and repair workshop in the country’s famous port city Cartagena, a statement of intent in the Latin American maritime market.

Located strategically near the Caribbean Sea and key shipyards, the facility will be the first of its kind in Colombia by a propulsion system provider. The €5 million investment reflects Schottel’s commitment to enhancing its regional presence and service capabilities.

Schottel CEO Stefan Kaul highlighted the importance of the project, citing its role in expanding on-site services and strengthening ties with customers. “This strategic move underscores our focus on LATAM’s potential and our dedication to proximity and customer support,” Kaul said, crediting the local team led by general manager Julio Carrasquilla for laying the groundwork for this expansion.
