James Fisher enhances fleet with four dual-fuel LNG vessels

James Fisher and Sons has placed an order for four advanced vessels from China Merchants Jinling Shipyard. The newbuilds are part of the company’s ‘Fleet of the Future’ strategy, designed to modernise its fleet while reducing environmental impact.

The tankers will be equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems, a key feature to significantly lower operational CO2 emissions. The vessels will also carry oil products and IMO Class II chemicals. Drawing on successful elements from its recently introduced vessels, Sir John Fisher and Lady Maria Fisher, the new ships will incorporate an optimised hull form, waste heat recovery systems utilising cooling water and exhaust gas, 100% LED lighting, and environmentally controlled engine room fans. Additional energy efficiency measures are being introduced to further reduce emissions, particularly during port operations.
