Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has awarded a contract to TMC Compressors (TMC) to supply marine compressed air systems for four new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for Capital Gas Corp.

Under the terms of the contract, TMC will deliver complete marine compressed air systems for each of the four LNG vessels. The package includes control and service air compressors designed specifically for maritime applications. While the contract’s value remains undisclosed, TMC has confirmed that it will manufacture and assemble the equipment at its facilities in Scandinavia, before shipping the systems to the HHI shipyard in Korea.

A key design feature of TMC’s compressors is their ease of maintenance, allowing the onboard crew to perform necessary upkeep without the need for external technicians. This capability aligns with current trends in the industry, as shipowners and yards seek to reduce energy consumption and lifecycle operating costs.
