    Eastaway, a member of the X-Press Feeders Group, is ordering six 1,250 teu container vessels from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding. The contract calls for deliveries between June 2025 and October 2026, and entails a version of the Sealion CV1250 class of boxship developed by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI) and equipped with a two-stroke MAN B&W ME-LGIM engine capable of operating on methanol as well as conventional fuels.

    Classification society DNV has awarded Approval in Principle for Wärtsilä’s new patented and proprietary technology Wärtsilä Ammonia Release Mitigation Systems (WARMS). The approval in principle covers its use on ships fuelled by ammonia with the DNV Class notation gas fuelled ammonia or on gas tankers fuelled by ammonia with the DNV Class notation GF NH3.
