The final session of the Propulsion and Future Fuels Conference will discover the latest on training and new curriculums for future fuels.
Delegates attending the conference, being held in Hamburg from 19 to 21 November, will learn about the plans for implementing training which will ensure both seafarers and shore crew keep pace with the developments in future fuels.
Speakers in the session include Olaf Doerk, Head of DNV’s Maritime Advisory Center in Hamburg; Thomas Ingholt, Technical Director, Green Marine and Odd Rune Malterud, Assistant Director & Technical Manager, Norwegian Union of Marine Engineers.
Olaf Doerk will look at the very real challenges ahead to ensure that all personnel have the required competences as new low-carbon fuels are implemented across the shipping sector. Thomas Ingholt will focus on Methanol, the gap in the IGF training curriculum and training for bunkering operations.
As an experienced former Chief Engineer Odd Rune Malterud is now responsible for IMO/ILO matters such as health, safety, security, welfare, environment, education, competence, certification in the Fisheries, Aquaculture, Shipping, Oil and Gas industries.
